πŸŽ„πŸ•ŽCSWA's December 18 Tree Lighting at Human Compass Garden - a Fabulous Time Had by All!

Thanks to the many of you who joined CSWA for a joyous revival of the tree lighting tradition at Human Compass Garden, corner of Sackett and Columbia Streets. It's safe to say the sweet donations from Brooklyn French Bakers and Poppy's to Go were a hit, as they were gone by the end of the event.

The tree looked lovely - thanks to Paul at House of Pizza and Calzone for donating it! Ben Fuller-Googins at CGA helped us in so many ways. Monsignor Guy Massey from St. Stephens blessed the tree and offered us a meaningful wish for the holidays. Those of us who headed over to Jalopy Tavern had a fantastic time.

Special thanks must go to Zoe Grover, John Leyva, James Morgan, Sharon Gordon, Lynette Wiley Wood, Eric, and the rest of the Jalopy team, Debra Tackney, and of course Santa, for everything they did to make this event truly special.

Whether you were there or couldn't join us, we know you'll enjoy this splendid Instagram reel James Morgan created.

PS Here are a couple of items left at the garden. Please email admin@columbiastreetwaterfront.org to arrange pick up!

SIMS Concrete Recycling Facility Update

We've been watching the DOT's trucks remove portions of the piles from this facility, but there's still large concrete mounds remaining as of today. We have been following up regularly with our electeds, and yesterday, Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon's office said the DOT has confirmed they are starting to move the remaining piles. Jo Anne's office also said they are trying to get confirmation of the date the removal will be completed.
